"A fortress that touched the clouds, walls that whispered centuries of valor — Kumbhalgarh stands eternal."
Nestled in the Aravalli ranges at 3,600 feet, Kumbhalgarh Fort was built by Maharana Kumbha in the 15th century and is the second most important fort in Rajasthan after Chittorgarh. Its walls — 36 kilometres long and 15 feet thick — earned it the title "Great Wall of India."
In 2013, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site. The fort is the birthplace of the legendary warrior king Maharana Pratap, and was never successfully conquered — breached only once due to scarcity of water. Today it hosts 360+ temples, three grand palaces, and a nightly light & sound show.
